WEEK 18
LO5 + LO6: Here I had to let Rebecca know why I was unable to get her a background that same night as work for my other group took much longer than anticipated. We were now very slightly behind on the work Evil Drinks as compositing and editing hit a few bumps along the way. This hindered my work for Moon Child a bit more, which I plan to make up for since I already lost a week for this project.
LO3 + LO5: (Above) For shot 25 I think by now I was used to what Rebecca wanted somewhat. She wanted wispy and random lines, with swirls and purples. So I did the shot and like usual, Rebecca would give me visual feedback. I think it is so much more helpful with this type of feedback as I can see exactly what she wants rather than having to decipher a description.
LO4: (Above) The third image is then the final image which she liked and I uploaded to gdrive.
LO5: (Below) To make it easier, I asked if I could get some clearer explanations of the shots she wanted since the boards were a little too vague to work with. She provided a helpful image and sentence description of each which helped me get started.

LO3: (Above) Here you can see the early stages of two backgrounds. One for shot 15 and one for shot 22. In the third image I numbered and broke down the layers to help Rebecca understand how I layered the image.
LO5: (Below) I always make sure to get feedback and Rebecca always make sure to give helpful notes on my pieces (e.g. the second image). In the third image, it is my response to her feedback.

LO3 + LO5: (Above) Here are more notes from Rebecca and my further changes. It's always quite the process getting a background right and to the standard Rebecca likes it to. It helps to communicate constantly.
LO3: (Below) Here I am still making changes and Rebecca is giving notes back. Lots and lots of back and forth to get a successful result.
LO4: (Below) The final image is the final background for the actual animation.

LO3 + LO5: (Above) Here is shot 23 and shot 15. I made sure to do a layout on shot 23 so Rebecca could see the shapes and general layering of the shot before I used colour. She approved so I then went on an coloured. She approved of the shot but the I had to keep working on shot 15 which proved to be a harder shot than anticipated.
LO4: (Above) After giving me more notes, I changed what was needed and she liked it. (Final image)
LO3 + LO5: (Below) Here I did shot 32 , even with Draco to give it context. She said it was perfect, but she wanted some extra foreground elements to cover Draco's feet. She also gave me a visual note on how she wanted it. I did the changes and she liked it.

LO3 + LO5: (Above) Again, there was always constant communication and feedback between each other. I made the shot, I then got feedback, I changed the shot and it was either accepted or continued to be worked on. For this shot 42, it was quite straightforward and the shot was accepted after the change.
LO4: (Above) The final background is the final one for the animation.
LO3 + LO5: (Below) Here, for shot 29. I had to draw over the feather. I did so at first, but I didn't realise I had to do the pattern over it which Rebecca then mentioned I needed to do. I tried manipulating the 3D image of it at first, but she preferred a hand drawn look. The pattern was tricky to do, but I think it does look nicer drawn. She gave me further feedback which I then followed.

LO3 + LO5: (Above) Here I did shot 40, making sure to keep continuity with shot 42 in terms of the floor and swirls. Rebecca really liked it, but there were a few extra little details and additions to make. She wanted highlights and for the girl to be centered in the swirl. I made these changes, but doing the highlights were a bit tricky and needed a bit more feedback. But finally I achieved the shot.
LO3 + LO5: (Below) Here is the same shot 29, with the feather, however I needed to do a background for it. I did two versions, one where you could see the sky, and one where it was all just the floor. She liked the second one and didn't feel the need to have anymore changes. This was a really easy and quick shot to do as I knew by now what Rebecca wanted in her backgrounds.

Week 19
LO3: Here is one last background I had to do. This is actually a last minute background that Rebecca asked me to do, to replace an earlier shot. This is supposed to be a bird-eye-view shot of the causeway and she said to simply manipulate one of the earlier shots to make it. So I used shot 5 and manipulated the causeway and made this. I added a few elements and changed it so it didn't look exactly like that shot.
LO3 + LO5: I was asked if I had the time to colour some shots in block colours. I at first did a 4 second shot that took me two days to do. It took surprisingly long because I couldn't use the fill tool or duplicate layers. That was for shot 35.
I also coloured in shot 24 and 23 which were generally easy shots to colour, but I had actually found a rhythm and technique to doing so.
I actually coloured these in way differently to how I coloured for Evil Drinks. For this I used video layers, whilst for Evil Drinks I did them on separate layers for each part of clothing. This was more straightforward.
However for shot 24 there was a bit of confusion (second picture below) which was easily resolved.
